Frequently Asked Questions
The IBE® Method Difference
What’s the difference between IBE® and other “invisible” methods?
IBE® was created with the health of the client’s scalp and hair at the top of our list. We create a unique track that focuses on flexibility and equal weight distribution. Our track is durable and is easily maintained due to the continuous track. We believe that minimal points of contact equal maximum points of damage. Unlike other traditional beaded weft methods, with IBE® there is no contact of a bead with the scalp at any time. Because of that, as well as our focus on proper tension, IBE® is a much more comfortable extension experience for guests.
With IBE®, our focus is on the precision of stitching and beadwork which allows for a longer time in between move ups.
How is an IBE® flip up different then others?
Invisible Bead Extensions® is known as the “Original Flip Up” for good reason. It is the first Patented extension method to show a beadless flip up. We were the first to truly research and develop a method which put the safety of the clients hair and scalp first. We were the first to be transparent with our grow out, showing the world what our guest’s extensions look like at 6, 10, 16, and 26 weeks! Nothing to hide here!
Many methods have tried to copy the IBE® flip up but we are confident that what is taught here remains the best. Our attention to detail is unmatched. Our emphasis on proper tension and placement is not found in any other extension training system. Our authenticity will never be in question, for we know that we created this to solve the problems with other methods and training systems, not to just copy a photo.
How is your training program unique?
We don’t believe our method can be taught or learned in a day. For this reason, we created our education videos for you to watch as many times as you’d like from anywhere in the world. We start off on the right track by pairing you with a private IBE® mentor who will be there to help you every step of the way. From start to finish, you’ll get all the support you need.
General Questions
Is IBE® the same as hand tied extensions?
Hand-tied extensions is the TYPE of weft used; IBE® is the method.
Can I do IBE® with flat wefts or machine tied wefts?
IBE® was created specifically for the use of hand-tied and micro wefts. Every single measurement, stitch, and placement is done with only the use of hand-tied or micro wefts. If another type of weft is used, we cannot guarantee the full IBE® experience will be met.
How often do I need to get my extensions reinstalled?
We recommend your first follow-up appointment at 7 weeks. At that time, your stylist will evaluate your grow-out and determine if you can go longer in between appointments. On average, one has their rows reinstalled between 8-10 weeks.
How long does the hair last?
Quality hand-tied and micro weft hair will last on average 7-12 months with proper styling care and the proper use of professional hair products. The hair we have in our IBE® online store is the highest quality hair on the market and we can only vouch for that. There are many types of hair on the market with different origins, so make sure you’ve researched the company if you look outside our store.
How much does IBE® cost to get installed?
IBE® is not a one price fits all. Pricing is different for everyone and is dependent on many factors. Contact your certified stylist of choice from our stylists locator and they will set up a consultation appointment to go over everything with you.
I had an IBE® install and it looks nothing like your pictures, what should I do?
First, verify that your stylist is indeed on our locator and certified. Second, if you’re unhappy with your install we recommend contacting your stylist and let them try to make it right. If you do not wish to see them again, find another stylist on our locator map. We provide the same in depth education to all of our stylists. Unfortunately, some choose to further their education and practice… others do not and this is out of our control.
What products do you recommend using on my extensions?
We recommend using Goldie Locks®. These products focus on enhancing the experience you can have with your hair, from the inside out. Not only does this product line encompass internal well-being and balance, but it provides added support and hydration to your hair extensions, by offering an entire line of luxury hair care. Find more info on Goldie Locks® at https://goldielocks.com/
What if I have a problem with my IBE® stylist.
Unfortunately we have no control over every stylist and how they run their business. If you are unhappy with your stylist first contact them and see if they can make it right with you. If they cannot, find another stylist on our locator.
Is there a number to call to speak with someone regarding questions/problems?
We do not have a landline. Any questions/problems can be answered through our customer service at support@invisiblebeadextensions.com.

There will be accountability assignments for each class. You will not receive your Masters certificate unless you have completed the 6 assignments by the due date.
What is required for Masters Technique:

IBE® Hair
I’m having a problem with my hair extensions purchased from the IBE® store! What can I do?
Please reach out to the IBE® stylist that installed your hair extensions. He or she can then reach out directly to us by emailing support@invisiblebeadextensions.com. *We will not respond to questions from clients.
How do I take good care of my hair?
We recommend brushing your hair 3-4 times a day and then braiding it before you go to bed. It’s also best to sleep on a silk pillowcase or use a silk bonnet. Make sure to always use professional products, we recommend GoldieLocks as it is formulated for extensions first. Extensions require ultra hydrating products. Stay away from anything reparative, as this usually means protein is present which is not recommended for use on hair extensions. Also stay away from Keratin products as well as Olaplex.
Will the wefts match your hair color?
Proper consultation is so important for color matching, so be sure to go to an IBE® stylist who has an appropriate color ring.
Are they long lasting?
Hand tied hair extensions typically last between 7-12 months, depending on how you care for them. It is very important to use professional hair products on hand tied extensions and follow all maintenance instructions from your stylist.
Does the curl pattern relax with your wefts?
No, our curly hair does not relax. So make sure the texture match is correct upon consultation.
Can I razor cut this hair?
We never recommend razor cutting curly hair. You can however razor cut our straight hair. *It is always recommended to use a fresh razor for every haircut when using a razor.
What is your return policy?
Please refer to our return policy here: https://shop.invisiblebeadextensions.com/policies/refund-policy

We notify stylists of restock information through our Instagram, email, text and IBE® Stylists App. If you are a BOOST member you will get restock information 24 hrs prior to everyone else. You can also use the ‘Notify Me’ button on the item information page.

IBE®️ Scholarship
How can I apply for the IBE® Scholarship?
To apply for the IBE® Scholarship, an IBE® Platform Educator must visit your school to give a presentation about the program. After the presentation, students will be provided with a QR code and the application details.
What if an IBE® educator has not visited my school?
Unfortunately, students from schools that have not had a visit from an IBE® Platform Educator are not eligible to apply for the scholarship. We recommend speaking with your school administration about inviting an IBE® educator for a presentation. You can find the application HERE.
What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarship covers $1700 off the total cost of the IBE® certification. This helps reduce the financial burden for students entering the industry.
Who is eligible for the scholarship?
Eligibility is restricted to current cosmetology school students who attend a school that has hosted an IBE® presentation.
How often do Platform Educators visit schools?
Educator visits are scheduled based on demand and availability. If your school is interested in hosting a presentation, they can contact IBE® support HERE to arrange a visit.
What should I expect during the educator’s visit?
During the visit, the IBE® educator will provide an overview of the IBE® certification program, discuss the scholarship opportunity, and answer any questions students may have. This presentation can be tailored specifically for your school, offering the potential to include a cutting or color demonstration, or even a business-focused session. This will give students valuable insights into the benefits of becoming IBE® certified, as well as skills to put into practice after graduation.
How will I know if I’ve been awarded the scholarship?
After applying, selected students will be notified via email to schedule an interview with our admissions director. Further instructions will be provided to complete the certification process.
When is the best time to apply?
In order to qualify for the scholarship, you must apply while you are currently in school. Applications received after your graduation date will not qualify.
How long is the application good for?
The application will expire 6 weeks after your graduation. If you are unable to purchase the IBE® course during this time, you will need to pay full price for the certification.
When will I receive my certification?
Your IBE® Certification will be granted when you have graduated cosmetology school and have an active license.
What do I do in the meantime, until I am fully certified?
We encourage you to keep practicing. Those who complete the IBE® Certification course early in their schooling may need to show additional work upon graduation and licensure. You will NOT be able to offer IBE® until you are fully certified.
